What an amazing weekend we just shared together! It was great to see God moving and equipping FGB members throughout the weekend.
Thanks to all that presented, hosted the prayer meetings, travelled with the group from Nigeria and heard from God. I hope that you’ve all gone away empowered and motivated. I look forward to hearing reports back from your chapters about all the things that are happening.

50 YEARS ON & STILL GOING STRONG
Following the 2026 FGB National Convention in Derby, Rodney Radcliffe a long-time member wrote to share his heartfelt encouragement. As well as a remarkable reflection on the origins and growth of FGBMFI in Europe and the UK. Rodney described the Derby Convention as “a truly anointed time.” Expressing appreciation for the leadership, worship, preparation, and spiritual freedom experienced throughout the weekend. He particularly grateful to the commitment in creating an atmosphere where the Holy Spirit could move so freely.
What made this year’s convention especially significant was that it took place in mid-May, exactly 50 years after the launch of FGBMFI Europe in Brussels in May 1976! Rodney attended that historic gathering, he reflected on the extraordinary faithfulness and guidance of God over the past five decades.
Along with men from across the UK and Ireland who would later play important roles in establishing and leading the ministry nationally. At the time, very few of the UK attendees knew one another, yet they had each been drawn independently to attend. Looking back, he described it as a clear work of the Holy Spirit. That representatives from all the major regions of the UK were gathered together at such a pivotal moment.
The roots of the ministry in the UK actually stretched back even earlier. Following an initial FGBMFI “airlift” to London in 1965, early chapters had already begun operating in Wigan, Ballymena, and Scotland. Rodney has shared how he personally became connected with FGBMFI after receiving an invitation to attend the 1974 USA Convention in New York. During that visit he formed friendships that later led to an invitation to attend the 1976 Brussels Convention. An invitation he believes changed the direction of his life and ministry involvement.
After returning to London from Brussels, he shared the FGB vision with his business partner, Michael Bretherton, and company chairman, John Wright. Together they began gathering businessmen and contacts monthly in their Mayfair offices. Where they heard visiting FGBMFI speakers from around the world. They also helped support the accommodation costs for visiting speakers ministering in London. Reflecting on the entire journey from those early beginnings until today, Rodney summed it up simply with the words: “God has provided, led and guided throughout.”
As we celebrate 50 years since the launch of FGBMFI Europe, we give thanks for the faith, obedience, and vision of those early pioneers. We continue to pray for God’s guidance and blessing on the ministry in the years ahead.
