A Night of Testimony, Prayer and New Beginnings in Stroud

ALWAYS A WARM WELCOME IN STROUD

The latest FGB Stroud District dinner meeting brought together members and guests for an encouraging evening of fellowship, testimony, ministry and prayer.

The evening was opened by KayJay, who welcomed everyone, firstly he went on to introduce FGB Regional Director Peter Ashburner.

Peter shared about his ministry especially focused in a prophetic and healing ministry, as well as his time with Full Gospel Businessmen. He then went on to invite up the main speaker Mike Honey, to share his testimony.

With 22 people attending, the evening provided a valuable opportunity for guests and FGB members to connect. To fellowship and hear about God’s work, discovering more about the ministry of Full Gospel Businessmen.

MIKE HONEY SHARES HIS TESTIMONY

One of the highlights of the evening was the testimony of Mike Honey.

Mike spoke passionately about his faith in Christ and the central place that God has had throughout his life. His real life story reflected on a deep confidence in God’s faithfulness, and a recognition of the blessings he has received through God’s grace.

Mike’s passion for Christ was evident throughout his testimony. During his message Mike provided an encouraging reminder of what it means to place our trust in God. How wonderful if can be to allow our lives to be shaped by His grace.

After he had finished Mike handed the evening back to Peter Ashburner.

HOLDING EACH OTHER IN PRAYER

Peter shared more about his ministry and his experience of seeing God at work through prayer and healing.

Following Peter sharing about how God had used him, guests were invited to come forward for prayer. Peter and Mike spent time praying with those who responded, offering encouragement and praying for individual needs.

Prayer is an important part of all FGB meetings, and this evening was no exception!

The ministry time started with a special time of prayer, for several people who were unable to attend. One couple that were prayer for were Sue and her husband Ed,  they were unable to be present because of illness.

The group also prayed for Michael Purnell, a much-loved man of God who has worked alongside FGB members on many occasions. He is currently in hospital following a severe stroke.

The evening was a reminder that FGB is about more than simply holding meetings. It is about supporting one another, standing together in prayer and bringing the needs of others before God. FGB is a Christian family and even though we are spread across world, we take care of each other with prayer.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Running an FGB Chapter is so much more than a President and speaker. There are so many cogs that work together to serve God the best way we can.

The more everyone does the more we can do!

The Stroud Chapter is a great example of this, there are so many people we hold dear.

Pam and Steve play an important role in preparing the meetings and creating a welcoming environment for guests. They carefully arrange the tables, flowers, chocolates and other displays. Together they ensure that everything is presented beautifully and professionally.

They also take responsibility for clearing everything away at the end of the evening. A job often forgotten, but how we leave a venue shows we respect those who work there.

Steve and Pam’s contribution is an important part of making the meetings possible. It reflects the many different ways people can serve within FGB. Not always from the front, but often through practical acts of service.

Brendan also play a significant role, supporting the chapter with publicity, advertising, PA and camera equipment. He also helps in organising speakers.

Kayjay is the glue that holds everything together and his continue devolution to serving is inspiring.

ENCOURAGMENT FOR THE FUTURE

The evening also brought encouragement about the future of FGB Stroud District.

Martin who was attending for the first time, showed enthusiasm for the work of FGB. With an interest in helping the chapter move forward.

As someone with previous experience of FGB, Martin already understands the vision and importance of the ministry. His enthusiasm could provide valuable encouragement as the chapter looks towards the future.

There is a desire to see FGB continue to grow and reach more people with the Gospel. While developing new leadership, mentoring those in the fellowship and allowing existing leaders to concentrate on their wider ministry responsibilities.

The chapter is already looking ahead, with plans in place for future meetings, including bookings at Fromebridge Mill in 2027.

There is also a desire to make more people aware of FGB and the opportunities available through the ministry. FGB’s website, provides information about the organisation, its mission, testimonies, events and opportunities to get involved.

MINISTRY BUILT ON FAITH, FRIENDSHIP AND SERVICE

The Stroud District dinner was a great example of the heart of FGB. People coming together to share their faith, encourage one another, hear testimonies of God’s work and pray for those in need.

From those speaking and praying at the front to those arranging the tables, providing technical support and welcoming guests, everyone has a part to play.

As the chapter looks to the future, there is a real sense of expectation about what God can do through FGB Stroud District and through those willing to step forward and serve.

Please continue to pray for the Stroud District chapter, its leaders and members, and for the many people who will encounter the Gospel through FGB in the months and years ahead.
