In today’s fast-moving world, attention is short but the power of your testimony is not!
We want to challenge the members of FGB:
👉 Can you share your testimony in just 2½ minutes?
Thinking carefully about the point you want to get across, making every second impactful. So it can change other people’s lives the way yours has been changed.
Not watered down.
Not complicated.
Just clear, real, and powerful.
Because the truth is the Gospel is simple. And the impact Jesus has made in your life doesn’t need to be over explained to be life-changing. You don’t need to be a great speaker stood at the front to make a difference. You can share your real life story anywhere.
🔥 Why Your Testimony Matters
Your testimony is one of the most powerful tools you have.
It’s personal – no one can argue with your story
It’s relatable – people see themselves in you
It’s powerful – it points directly to what Jesus has done
- It’s real – in a world of misinformation and misrepresentation you have the truth
The Bible says we overcome by the word of our testimony. In a world full of noise, your story can cut through and reach hearts.
🧭 Know Your Story
Start with a headline, engage people from the beginning
What was my life like before Jesus?
What happened when I encountered Him?
What has changed since?
How has a relationship with God helped in specific situations?
What do you need to do build your own relationship with him?
Keep if simple. Write or bullet point it if that helps. Clarity brings impact, try not to fill your video with ummmm’s and filler words.
Be Led by the Holy Spirit when face to face
Not every situation needs the same version of your testimony.
Sometimes it’s 30 seconds.
Sometimes it’s 2 minutes.
Sometimes it’s longer.
The key is to stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Allowing Him to guide what you share, how you share it, and who you share it with.
Remember the best way to listen to the Holy Spirit is to practice being led by him. You have to act in order to build the skill, to tune into the Holy Spirit and to build your confidence. The Holy Spirit is always with you and won’t let you down. But just like you learn to recognise people’s voices, you need to learn to recognise the Holy Spirits too.
⚡ Keep It Simple
Video’s on social media usually have an average watch time between 9-30 seconds. Make sure start with by getting straight to the point, make the first 30 seconds count, so people will want to carry on watching.
We don’t need to complicate the Gospel.
People aren’t looking for perfection — they’re looking for real.
A clear, honest, heartfelt testimony can open doors that theology alone sometimes can’t.
Depth can come later, you might be a small cog at the beginning of their journey to them meeting Jesus. But you also might be the last cog when they find salvation.
